Jim, affectionately called “Don Gringo” by the community of Oxapampa is an American Citizen and US Navy veteran, married a Peruvian lady just after retiring and went with her to Peru to explore many of the places in that wonderful country. Eventually, they fell in love with coffee in Huancabamba, a small town in the eastern Andes in Oxapampa area; with a mixture of fertile valleys, a wide variety of micro climates, and a passionate community of coffee growers.  Jim and his wife moved there and formed Don Gringo’s Coffee, built the first coffee processing plant and started roasting and selling gourmet and special coffee from the high jungle of central Perú.

Don Gringo’s Coffee comes from Jim’s farm and his neighbors, who work with the community to produce the best quality of coffee and provide a fair price to the local farmers, being one of the protagonists of sustainable development in the community of Oxapampa.

Now after 11 years Don Gringo’s Coffee is a recognized brand and is being sold in 16 stores of the Tottus Supermarket and 10 coffee shops in Perú. They also export to Ukraine, Spain and starting in USA.
